Biography
Renée Le Bloas-Julienne is a self-taught artist, born in Toronto and of French nationality. She lives and works in Paris.
Since childhood, her relationship to painting has been shaped by color and light. A journey to Polynesia in her late adolescence left a lasting imprint on her imagination: the intensity of color, the marine world, and the luxuriance of nature became founding presences in her work.
After several years as a photojournalist and author of children’s books, particularly devoted to marine animals, she fully dedicated herself to painting in 2005. Since 2015, epoxy resin has become central to her practice. Through successive layers, luminous pigments, and effects of transparency, she creates organic landscapes where coral reefs, mineral cartographies, aerial views, and cosmic spaces seem to converge.
Her BUBBLES series introduces a sculptural dimension: resin spheres emerge from the surface, capturing and refracting light. For Le Bloas-Julienne, nature is never merely a source of imagery. It becomes an intimate territory — a space of contemplation and projection, where matter, light, and chance open onto inner worlds.
